Fond of Open Science? Visit our Monthly Meet-Ups!

Once a month, the Re:ERUA Team hosts the virtual Open Science Meet-Ups on Zoom. Here, Open Science enthusiasts from all ERUA universities meet up to discuss Open Science-related topics in a relaxed international atmosphere. Among other things, we explore current topics together, exchange different perspectives on Open Science and share best practices.

Our next meet-up on June 23rd will be about Open Access Journals. George Walkden, professor of English linguistics at the University of Konstanz and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Historical Syntax, will outline the main differences between closed access journals and open access journals. Furthermore, he will discuss why the Journal’s editors chose open rather than closed access, what editorial and publication-related workflows consist of and how the Journal is financed. After the session, everyone will have the opportunity to ask questions and to discuss journal-related things. We would love to see you there. No registration is required.

Keen to find out more? You are very welcome to visit our website to find out what else will cover. You can also explore what we have covered so far and the session’s materials. You can also join our Open Science Meet-Up mailing list to stay up to date on future sessions.

You have an Open Science-related topic you would like to discuss? We would love to hear from you.
