Call for Expression of Interest

We are excited to announce a community-wide call to gather proposals aimed at adopting a motto and designing a coat of arms for the ERUA 2 project. The call seek ideas that embody the spirit and values of our alliance, ERUA’s core principles of Openness, Student-focused approach, Inclusiveness, and Humanism. The submitted proposals should additionally outline strategies for merchandising the chosen coat of arms. We encourage universities within our community to participate actively in this collaborative creative process. Submissions should reflect appropriate interpretations of ERUA’s values and aspirations. The selection committee will select the best proposal in each category taking into account the clarity, applicability, and originality of the proposed mottos, as well as the creativity, relevance, and aesthetic quality of the proposed coats of arms, which will later be used to represent the identity of ERUA2 and promote its values.

We are looking for creative minds who will design a catchy motto and an appealing coat of arms for our ERUA2 network.

Submission Details

Each participant may submit only one proposal for each item that needs to include the following features:

Motto Proposal:

  • The motto must be short, impactful, and memorable and must be accompanied by an explanation
  • It should reflect the values, mission, and vision of ERUA2
  • The length of the motto must not exceed 10 words
  • The motto and its explanation must be in English and each partner will evaluate the opportunity to translate the motto it into their language
  • The motto must be original and must not have been used previously by other entities or organizations.

Coat of Arms Proposal: The coat of arms should be distinctive, meaningful, and should evoke a sense of pride and belonging among our members and the community.

  • The coat of arms must be an original and unpublished work
  • It should reflect the values, mission, and vision of ERUA2
  • It should be created in a vector format suitable for reproduction on various media, both print and digital
  • The composition should be balanced and clearly legible even in small sizes
  • The colours of the coat of arms should be limited and preferably adaptable to different backgrounds
  • The coat of arms should not resemble the shape of the coats of arms of the countries of the Alliance and its colours should not resemble any of the national flags of these countries
  • It should be accompanied by a brief description explaining the meaning of its symbols and concepts represented

 

Key Dates:

Submission Deadline: 04 July 2024

Selection Board Decision: 31 July 2024

The selection committee will elaborate a short list of at least three proposals for each item to be forwarded to the Steering Committee for the final decision.

The selection committee will take into account the clarity, applicability, and originality of the proposed mottos, as well as the creativity, relevance, and aesthetic quality of the proposed coats of arms, along with their ability to represent the identity and values of ERUA2
