This July, New Bulgarian University in Sofia hosted two impactful courses:
“Interviewing Adults in Medical Practice” (July 10-11)
“Communication with Patients in Crisis Situations” (July 18-19)
A diverse group of 23 students from SWPS University and Paris 8 University collaborated with peers from Texas A&M University, fostering an enriching exchange of ideas and cultural practices.
Led by Assoc. Prof. Margarita Stankova, MD, PhD, psychiatrist and esteemed lecturer at New Bulgarian University, students tackled crucial topics such as:
- Conducting effective medical interviews
- Communicating sensitive information and sharing bad news with patients
Students engaged in hands-on activities, role-playing scenarios, and real patient interviews. These immersive experiences were followed by in-depth discussions, enhancing their understanding and skills.
Such enriching interactions and practical experiences are invaluable in shaping the future of medical professionals.
